Astrid van Dam
Astrid was born in the Netherlands in 1975 and was raised in a family that has always worked in the airline and tourism industry. Ever
since she was old enough to write she helped her parents with their business. Starting at an early age, Astrid has traveled with her
parents and independently on hundreds of trips all over the world. After studying at the famous Dutch Hotel Management school she
worked for a well known Dutch Publisher. Her job required her to anonymously visit hotels all over the world to and then report back on
their quality and service. While on a holiday in 1999 she fell in love with Puerto Vallarta, Mexico and subsequently moved there.
Astrid is multi-lingual and is fluent in Dutch, English, Spanish and German. From 2000 until 2010 she travelled for an average of 9
months a year though Mexico, Guatemala, Belize and Honduras with groups. In 2011, Astrid was responsible for the transportation of all
athletes, trainers and everybody else involved during the 2011 Pan American Games in Puerto Vallarta. She now runs the office in
Vallarta and is responsible for incoming groups and all transportation needs in Vallarta. As a certified guide she is specialized in tours
to Guadalajara, The Copper Canyon, Mexico City and the South Eastern part of Mexico
Azael Saldaña Lopez
Azael was born in Puerto Vallarta in 1978 and raised in the "friendliest city of the World" (Conde Nast travel magazine). Azael has lived
among tourists his entire life. Visitors that come to Puerto Vallarta cannot imagine that someone from this paradise would have the
need to travel to other places, but he does and enjoys not only exploring his home country of Mexico but all over the world.
After his trips to Europe (France, Greece, Spain, Denmark and Holland among others), Central America and the Caribbean he decided
to switch careers from photography to becoming a licensed guide. Azael believes a great guide is necessary for the guests of Vallarta to
enjoy more what they see and experience. Since 2000, he has been a guide and strives to help his clients enjoy a superior travel
adventure. As a certified guide, Azael is specialized in local tours in the whole state of Jalisco, Nayarit and Colima.
Astrid and Azael's next step was to create SUPERIOR TOURS VALLARTA which specializes in personalized trips from four hours, in and
around Puerto Vallarta to 20 days throughout Mexico, Guatemala and Honduras. Travel and exploring is their passion. They believe
bringing tourists and locals together is what makes for a memorable holiday.
As their business has grown during the past years, they have selected the best guides of Vallarta to join the Superior Tours Team.
Superior Tours Vallarta now has a team of several guides, a group coordinator and several transfer-representatives. In 2010 they have
opened another office in Old Town Vallarta where they not only create their own tours, but also offer complete travel agent service: like
airline tickets, bus tickets, cruises, packages to other countries and more. As usual, we can customize any tour but are not limited
