Colonial Highlands of Mexico
8 days/7 nights
Visit: Mexico City, San Miguel de Allende, Dolores Hidalgo, Guanajuato, and
Guadalajara
Day 1
Puerto Vallarta-Mexico City
Arrival in Mexico City. If you fly with the group we will transfer you to the hotel, in
case you take another flight please take a taxi to the hotel.
Arrival is in the afternoon, we will give you some tips where you can have
dinner. Our hotel is located in the Zona Rosa, with many restaurants nearby.
Day 2
Mexico City: City Tour and Anthropological Museum
After breakfast we will show you all highlights of Downtown Mexico City: The
Zócalo, Cathedral, National Palace with the murals of Diego Rivera, Reforma
Avenue and Chapultepec area, where we find the Anthropological museum,
one of the most important in the world. We will show you the highlight of most
cultures that México had and has.
Day 3
Basilica-Teotihuacan Pyramids-San Miguel de Allende
After breakfast we will leave the hotel at 8.30am to show you the most important
church of Mexico City; the Basilica of Guadalupe. "Guadalupe" is the patron
Saint of Mexico. She is visited by millions of Mexicans every year. Our next stop
is Teotihuacan, where you can climb the pyramids. Teotihuacan was
constructed between 200 BC and 700AC by an unknown tribe that we later
called the Teotihuacanos. The Aztecs adopted the name, "The City of Gods".
The temple of Quetzalcoatl, the pyramid of the Sun and the temple of
Quetzalpapálotl are just a few examples of what you can expect to see there.
Bring good walking shoes! After lunch, we will continue to San Miguel de
Allende, 2 nights in San Miguel
Day 4.
San Miguel de Allende
Take a day off or join us on a walking tour though the City so that you can see
all highlights, like the impressive church. The rest of the day you can do some
shopping, or relax at the hotel.
Day 5
San Miguel de Allende-Dolores Hidalgo-Guanajuato
After breakfast we will depart to the town of Dolores Hidalgo. This historic City,
is the place where Priest don Miguel Hidalgo rang the bell of the Church, which
was the beginning of the war of Independence of Mexico. Buy some colorful
ceramics which you will find here all over.
We will continue to Guanajuato. This place is famous for the tunnels under the
city. After check in in the hotel, we will make a walking tour. You will see the
Alhondiga de Granaditas, the Juarez theatre, the Valenciana Mine and the
famous Alley of the Kiss.
Day 6
Guanajuato
Take a day off, or join us for an optional tour to the Mummy Museum.
Day 7
Guanajuato-Tonala-Guadalajara
After breakfast we head to the Capital of Jalisco: Guadalajara. The place where
the Mariachi Music was born.Before that we will visit the famous Sunday Market
in Tonala and Tlaquepaque, an Oasis for shopping. 1 Night in Guadalajara
Day 7
Guadalajara-Puerto Vallarta
After breakfast we will show you all highlights of Guadalajara during our walking
tour. See the Cathedral, the Degollado Teatre, The Government Palace with
the famous murals of José Clemente Orozco, plaza Tapatia and all other
highlights that you can imagine.
After the City Tour we will drive to Puerto Vallarta
