Group Tour to The Copper Canyon 7days/6 nights
After breakfast we leave in the morning to the Colonial town of El Fuerte, founded in 1564. This
place is very famous, as it is the "birthplace" of Señor Diego de la Vega, better known as "El
Zorro". El Fuerte is the gateway to the Copper Canyon. We will check into the hotel Posada del
Hidalgo
DAY 2 Mazatlan- El Fuerte (March 21)
In El Fuerte you will have the rest of the afternoon off. We recommend you to do one of the
following activities; (not included)
- Walk around the Plaza, with its beautiful Church and the municipal
palace. It is like going back in time.
- Take a river cruise, down El Fuerte River. This is an excellent place for
birdwatching
- Take a tour to see the ancient petroglyphs
- Take a tour to the old Mayo Indian Village, where you can see how they
make their pottery and you might see some of their traditional dances.
Or relax and stay in the hotel with its nice courtyards/pool or have a massage.
DAY 3 EL FUERTE-CEROCAHUI (March 22th)
Time to board the train!! !. We will have a transfer to the train station at El
Fuerte (about 15 minutes). The train will leave around 8.30am. We will enjoy a
breakfast in the train today (included). The Copper Canyon is about 4 times
bigger than the Grand Canyon, and the famous Chepe Train will take you via
86 tunnels and over 37 bridges from sea level to 7.200 feet. It took over 100
years to construct this railroad, and is truly an engineering marvel (N.G.).
Around 12.30pm you will arrive at the Bahuichivo train station, where you will
be greeted for your stay at the Mision Hotel in the town of Cerocahui. (40
minutes). We will check you in and will get ready for lunch.(included) After
lunch you have the opportunity to see the waterfalls (not included), see how
wine is made in the hotel´s own winery, or visit the girls Tarahumara school.
This is truly a highlight of the trip, donations are highly appreciated! Dinner at
the hotel,don´t forget to try the house wine.
DAY 4 CEROCAHUI-BARRANCAS (March 23th)
Right after breakfast we take our first tour of the day in where you will ride
along a road (by van or bus) that will take you to 7,500 feet at the Gallego
Lookout Point to appreciate the grandeur of the Urique Canyon, the deepest
of all canyons. Bring extra batteries for your camera!
After that at 12:20 p.m. you re-board the Copper Canyon Train for another
thrilling train ride with beautiful landscapes, amazing views on the way,so have
your camera ready. Lunch is aboard the train today (included). Arrive at
Posada Barrancas train station around 2:30 p.m., where you will be transferred
to Mirador Hotel (5 min). Check-In. In the afternoon you can take the famous
Hummer tour (not included) or a walking tour to the caves where the
Tarahumara indigenous people live (included). Dinner is served in the
panoramic restaurant of the hotel. (included)

DAY 5 BARRANCAS-LOS MOCHIS (March 24th)
This morning you will take our tour to Balancing Rock, 3 Canyons Overlook
Point included, so bring your camera and have it ready!! This is a 2 and a half
hour experience at Copper Canyon that you cannot miss!!
After this tour you will receive a transfer to the train station and you will enjoy
again the beautiful scenery on the way back to El Fuerte.
From El Fuerte we will give you a transfer to Los Mochis, where you will stay
one night in the Santa Anita Hotel. Breakfast, dinner and lunch are included
today.
DAY 6. Los Mochis-Mazatlan (March 25)
After breakfast we bring will head back to Mazatlan were we will arrive in the
early afternoon to relax. At night we will take you to Old Town Mazatlan, to the
famous Plaza "Machado" for a cool pacifico
We leave in our own comfortable bus in the early morning Puerto Vallarta with pick ups at Plaza
Romy (our office), Walmart and Bucerias, to Mazatlan. We will arrive in the early afternoon. You
have time to relax, have an excellent Shrimp lunch or explore this City. One night in Mazatlan. We
will stay in the Ocean Palace hotel, and have reserved you an Ocean Front room.
DAY 1 Puerto Vallarta- Mazatlan (March 20)
DAY 7. Mazatlan-Puerto Vallarta (March 26)
In the morning after breakfast we will head back to Vallarta, and we will drop
everybody at the original pick up point. End of tour.
