Day 1- Saturday

We will depart Puerto Vallarta in the early morning and will head to the state
Capital of Jalisco, Guadalajara, where Mariachi music was born.
Enjoy a guided historic city tour where you will see all highlights of this vibrant
city. We will take you to the government building to  see the famous murals of
legendary artist, José Clemente Orozco.

Next we will visit the iconic Cathedral, known as "The Pearl of the West", which is
also the nickname of Guadalajara.  We will then stroll to the Degollado theatre
and via the Plaza Tapatia we will end the tour at the hospice de Cabañas. You
will have some free time to explore this area, including touring Hospicio de
Cabañas as it is the biggest Colonial building of the Americas, or shop at the
San Juan de Dios mercado, the largest covered mercado in all of Mexico.

After this tour we will bring you to
Villa del Ensueño boutique hotel in beautiful
Tlaquepaque.  Filled with fantastic restaurants and bars, colorful buildings and
artisan handcraft boutiques. Enjoy a margarita while listening to live Mariachi in
the Plaza or shop to your heart's delight. 1 night stay at
Villa del Ensueño.
There is no other country with so many beautiful haciendas as Mexico. Superior Tours Vallarta has
designed this wonderful tour where you will visit some of the most beautiful haciendas and stay in the
most romantic boutique hotels that you can imagine. Come with us on this 3 days/2 nights tour and step
back in time. Visit historic Guadalajara, Tlaquepaque, Talpa, Mascota, and magnificent San Sebastian
del Oeste.
Day 2 - Sunday

Wake up to a delightful full breakfast in the hotel's beautiful courtyard. After
breakfast we will depart to Talpa which is one of the most important religious
cities in Mexico. Millions of Mexicans go to Talpa to pray to the famous Virgin of
Talpa. After the Basilica of Guadelupe in Mexico City, this is the most visited
religious place in the entire country.

Almost every day you can witness impressive processions to Talpa, but Sunday
is the most magical day to visit. After our tour to Talpa we will continue to
neighboring Mascota. Mascota was once an important trading city in the Jalisco
mountains.  Today it is a historic colonial town where most people depend on
agriculture. If possible, time wise, we will visit the house of stones. The owner of
the house is better known as "Fred Flintstone" by the people of Mascota. Literly
everything in his house is decorated with stones; even his bed and television.
We will stay one night at the
Meson de Santa Elena
Day 3 -Monday

After breakfast at the hotel we depart and head to San Sebastian del Oeste
where you will literally step back in time. Once one of the most important mining
towns from the 1600's, San Sebastian is now a quiet mountain village (4800 ft
above sea level)

Nominated as a World Heritage site by UNESCO, San Sebastian is truly an
unspoiled place to explore. Just over a century ago an estimated 30.000 people
lived there. Today, there are only about 600 people remaining. The mines are
long closed but the charm and beauty of the village is still there. While visiting
San Sebastian, we will explore the local coffee plantation, where you can see the
whole process from the trees to the roasting of the beans and sample the
organcially grown coffee. We will visit the museum of Doña Conchita and learn
the history of San Sebastian. A stroll through the main plaza and a stop at the
local church is also included in this tour.

Before we head back to Vallarta, we will visit the treasure of the area, the
Hacienda Jalisco. This former silver hacienda is now operating as a bed and
breakfast with a museum. It was a favorite hideaway for legendary director John
Huston as well as his friends, Richard Burton and Elizabeth Taylor . Included is
an informative guided tour of the Hacienda and the museum and a wonderful
lunch prepared by Pablo, the chef at the Hacienda, using locally grown organic
ingredients.
On our way back to Vallarta,  we will make a stop at a local raicilla distillery,
where you can see and learn the whole process and get taste of true Mexican
moonshine.s
